Terms of Use

Effective date: July 2, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and SlapChart. By creating an account or using the app or website, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

SlapChart lets you rate specific menu items at specific restaurant locations and see community rankings of those locations. Rankings are computed from user ratings, weighted toward recent ones. They are opinions of our community, not statements of fact, and restaurants are not affiliated with or endorsed by us.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials private. You can delete your account at any time in the app or at our account deletion page.

3. Your content

You own the ratings, text, and photos you post. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content within the service, including in rankings and previews. You promise your content is yours to post and is accurate to your real experience. Do not post ratings for visits that did not happen.

4. Zero tolerance for objectionable content

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, deceptive, spam, or that infringes anyone's rights. To keep the community safe:

  • All user content is subject to filtering and moderation.
  • Every rating, photo, and profile can be reported in the app with two taps.
  • You can block any user; you will no longer see their content.
  • We review reports and act within 24 hours, removing violating content and ejecting the user who posted it. Repeat or severe offenders are banned permanently.

5. Acceptable use

  • No fake, incentivized, or coordinated ratings.
  • No scraping, reverse engineering, or automated access without our written permission.
  • No interfering with the service, other users, or the ranking system.
  • No impersonating any person, restaurant, or brand.

6. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with immediate effect for objectionable content or abuse. Sections that by their nature survive termination survive it.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Rankings are community opinion and may be wrong, stale, or incomplete. Menu items, prices, and availability are controlled by restaurants, not by us.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SlapChart is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

9. Apple and Google terms

If you got the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store's standard end user license terms also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and have no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after the change means you accept it.
